Philosophy on Pet Care... |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Kristy realizes that knowledge in pets and their care is a
continual process. Animals themselves teach her something new
every day. Having years of experience in caring for her own and
other’s pets, alertness to changes in behavior, being responsive,
calm, conscientious and reliable, all help to make her be the best
pet care professional she can be. |

Kristy is a member of Pet Sitters International (PSI), PetSit USA, and PetSits.com. In order to stand out from typical pet sitters, decided to go through a background check and a certification process.
- Background check first cleared on November 19, 2013 and repeats yearly.
- Completed the PSI Certification exam on
March 26, 2014 with a score of a 95%.
- Certified by Pet Tech in pet CPR and First Aid in September 2014.

A Little Bit About Us
... |
|
Kristy & Jason own 3 Border Collies
(Comet, Rusty, & Maverick) All of us here love to have visitors!
Kristy has been
pet sitting in other people's homes since she was in high school.
Friends and co-workers would ask her to care for their pets when
they were on vacation. Through these opportunities, she has taken
care of many different breeds of dogs, cats, and other exotic
pets.
During college,
Kristy worked in a kennel and took care of 200+ dogs in a given
weekend. At one point in time, she was the kennel manager and was
responsible for feeding all the pets, administrating medication,
exercising the dogs, and cleaning and maintaining the kennels.

Kristy has worked with the dogs in basic obedience training,
agility training, and most recently, herding. Blitz (2001-2014)
competed in a NADAC and USDAA in agility and even went to the
NADAC Championships in October 2005. Comet (born 2005) has just
started herding and agility so she hasn't competed yet. Rusty
(born 2012) is my rescue dog who is just starting to learn the
basics of agility and herding. Comet and Rusty are both certified therapy dogs. Maverick is learning all the basics for agility, herding, and how to be a good therapy dog. During the day (about 4-5 hours), Kristy teaches mathematics at
the local college.
We are very excited to incorporate our love for animals into an
opportunity to work with you and your pets.
A little bit about our home...
Now, we are offering our home as an alternative to a Kennel. Our
home is a safe, warm, loving, and clean environment. Your pet will
be treated as one of our own. We have a fenced in backyard, with
plenty of room for play. Your dog would be included in any of our
family activities. Your dog will have free roam of our home while
we are present. We believe in crating (my dogs and yours) only
when we are not home, this is for the safety of your pet and ours.
I do have one extra crate if you cannot bring your own. Sorry, but
no cats. I recently developed allergies to cats!!
I only allow one family of dogs to stay with us at a time.
Sometimes, I will have other pets (rabbits, hamsters, etc.)
staying with us when we have a family of dogs.
Some other important information...
• All pets are welcome to vacation with us except
cats...sorry but I am allergic to them.
• Please supply your own pet food. This is to help
prevent your pet from getting an upset
stomach from changing food.
• I prefer pet owners to supply their own crate (for
dogs) or cage (for other pets),
but I do have an extra dog crate available. Please
bring a shirt or blanket with your scent
for your pets comfort.
• I require all payment up front in the form of cash,
check, or money order.
Anyone providing a "bad check" will be charged an
additional $30.00.
Feel free to check out my other policies.
For the Dogs...
• A meet & greet a few days ahead of time is very
important and required. Agreeing to meet
does not guarantee your dog a spot in
my home. Your dog must meet all my requirements.
• Your dog must be housebroken and have no separation
issues.
• Your dog must be non aggressive, compatible with my
dogs, up to date on his/her shots,
and on some type of flea control.
• I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have!
We love referrals! If you refer a friend, family member, or
co-worker to me, then you will get a discount on your next visit!
We will also barter

Professional
pet and home sitting is not an economy care option and we
realize it may not be in everyone's budget. However, it's a
small price considering the peace of mind and convenience
provided by experienced, insured, responsible, reliable, and
